Trainer/ Consultant

Helen Walker is an Aged Care Learning Specialist who believes that older people, especially those living with dementia, are not something to be “managed” rather they offer the opportunity to get to know and support people as unique individuals. Helen has worked within hospital, community and residential care systems over the past 30 years. Her most recent roles include Education Manager at Alzheimer’s Australia ACT, Executive Programs Manager with the Carers Association ACT and Subject Matter Expert (My Aged Care) with CIT Solutions. Recently completing a Bachelor of Dementia Care, Helen also holds a Diploma’s in Community Sector Management and Community Development, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and received a Sir Vincent Fairfax Churchill Fellowship (2007) to undertake research in the UK to study innovative models of dementia care. Based on the South Coast of NSW, the beautiful Jervis Bay, Helen is a confident speaker, trainer and assessor who enjoys equipping communities with the latest knowledge and skills through interactive and multi-platform learning.
